Afghan Police Capture Taliban Field Commander
KANDAHAR, February 17 2006 -- Afghan police arrested a Taliban commander after a firefight that left the commander wounded.

Ghulam Nabi Mulahkhail, the police chief of Afghanistan's southern Zabul province, said police surrounded Mullah Rahim Ullah and a group of some 20 militants and ordered them to surrender. Ullah and his group refused and shooting broke out. Mulahkhail said the other militants escaped.

Ullah is accused of plotting and participating in attacks on Afghan and coalition troops.
