The Afghan Interior Ministry said a range of wires and fuses was also found among the improvised explosive devices discovered in eastern Kunar province on the border with Pakistan.

A Ministry statement said one person was arrested.
Afghanistan is hit by regular explosions caused by homemade bombs and largely blamed on remnants of the Taliban regime.
