Five Canadian Soldiers Wounded In Afghanistan
March 3, 2006 -- Five Canadian soldiers have been wounded in a suspected suicide attack on their armored vehicle in southern Afghanistan.
The incident occurred just outside Kandahar, not far from the airport where Canadian troops are based.
Meanwhile, in the neighboring province of Helmand, a local government spokesman, Ghulam Muhiddin, said police had killed eight Taliban fighters and arrested another 10. They were reportedly planning an ambush on a police convoy.
