KANDAHAR, August 3, 2006 -- Reports from Afghanistan say a suicide car bomb has killed at least 21 civilians and wounded 13, some of them children, in the southern city of Kandahar.

Regional police say the bomb was aimed at a convoy of NATO troops. There are no reports of casualties among foreign soldiers. The NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) took command of Afghanistan's south from the U.S.-led coalition on Monday (July 31).
