Coalition Forces Say 25 Taliban Fighters Killed In Afghan South
KANDAHAR, August 4, 2006 -- U.S.-led coalition forces in Afghanistan say they have killed 25 Taliban fighters in a joint operation with government troops in southern Helmand Province.
Helmand is one of six southern provinces that were formally transferred to the NATO-led International Security and Assistance Force earlier this week. Coalition forces, however, continue to conduct operations in the area.
