Search Operation For Missing French Aid Workers Called Off In Afghanistan
KABUL, April 7, 2007 -- Authorities in Afghanistan's
southwestern Nimroz Province have called off a search operation for two French aid workers who went missing in the province this week.

The Taliban claimed they captured the French
nationals who were traveling with three Afghans when they went missing in Nimroz on Tuesday (April 3). Provincial governor Ghulam Dastgir Azad told AFP that intelligence reports suggested the Taliban had taken them to neighbouring Helmand Province, a Taliban stronghold.
