Coalition: 19 Suspected Taliban Killed In Southern Afghanistan
KABUL, August 28, 2007 -- The U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan says up to 19 suspected insurgents have been killed in two separate clashes with coalition and Afghan troops in southern Afghanistan.
A coalition statement said about 12 militants were
killed in the Taliban-held Musa Qala district of Helmand Province when a joint U.S.-Afghan force fought back after being ambushed. The coalition said that in neighboring Kandahar Province, coalition and Afghan troops identified and a attacked a group of insurgents, killing seven.
